POI Question

When did the rule for a double foul change from arrow to POI in NFHS?

Exactly, or roughly?

The change was made for the 05-06 season.

I found it now that I have access to my books. 4.19.8 SIT E applied to my piticular play. I stuck to my call, but at half time was showed a case play on one of the other officials smart phone that referenced use of the arrow. Since the ball was being dribbled out front I went with POI, and gave the current team in control of the ball nearest the spot where the ball was at time of the DF.

If there's no team control (and no other way to determine for sure who would have the ball), then the arrow is used. So, the case play might be correct.

That's not the same as saying the arrow is always used.

Since the rule has been in its current form since before the advent of smart phones, you're probably right. Some folks just have a hard time with the POI rule.
