Indiana Pacers v. Miami Heat Flagrant Fouls
Thoughts on the two plays? First play, I have a flagrant foul penalty two. I had a clear wind-up, and impact that cause unnecessary and excessive contact. The contact catches the offensive player in the face and shoulder region. In addition to all that, the foul was a retaliatory foul since less than a minute before, the same offensive player who was fouled, committed a flagrant foul. I would have liked for the crew to go with the FF2 on the court and gave themselves an opportunity to downgrade if need be. It wasn't as if the play wasn't close to a FF2. Of course, they really could have truly thought it was nothing more than a FF1, and if they did, then they should go with that call on the court. On the 2nd play, I have a flagrant foul penalty two. Pittman in this play had no ideas about making a basketball play (as in trying to legally box out the opponent). Pittman runs across the lane, winds up, and creates unnecessary and excessive contact to the head/neck region of the opponent. If you want to involve outside factors, it could also be argued that this was a retaliatory act, to get back at Stevenson for the choking act directed at LeBron James in game two. But even if that isn't taken in as a factor, the play alone, IMO, deserves ejection. My only guess as to why this was kept a FF1 was because the crew didn't believe there was any windup on the play.

I can live with an F1 on the first play, though it's very close to the border of F1/F2. Since you provided the context of the play (I didn't see it live), I can definitely understand why an F2 could be called.
Play #2 is a definite F2 IMO. The Miami player takes a look at the Indiana player as the latter is coming in for the rebound and then hits him with a elbow to the neck. Clearly not a basketball play.

Tyler H. was correctly called for a FF1 on his foul against Wade.
I can sort of understand Hasleem getting a FF1 initially, but it's a no-brainer that it should be upgraded to FF2 and he should be sitting out Game 6. Pittman's should have been an FF2 on the spot with a multiple game suspension to follow.

Hansbrough's foul was a FF1 - he actually tried to block a shot and just made way too much contact. Both of these plays are FF2 imo...neither Haslem or Pittman made any attempt to play the ball, and Pittman's was about as far from a "basketball play" as you can get. Both should have been ejected...can't imagine the NBA will let either play in Game 6, and Pittman is probably done for quite a bit more than that. If MWP got 7 games for his elbow, this should get at least that.

FF1 on the first play is ok, upgrading to a 2 wouldnt hurt my feelings though.
2nd play, goodnight sir! IMO that's an on court decision, no need to go to the monitor if you're in the slot. "Oh look out, Pittman slipped!" Yeah right Mr. Commentator *reminds me of an Eminem lyric*

I agree that the flagrant foul committed by Tyler was a flagrant foul penalty one. Didn't post the play because I didn't think there was much to discuss on that play lol...
And to be fair tref, when the announcers saw the replay, they quickly changed their tune and thought Pittman should have been ejected.

The buzz on a couple of sport talk shows today is that Hanbrough's foul should be upgraded to a FF2 (along with Haslem and Pittman) because of who it was on! So because Hansbrough fouled a "star" his should automatically be a FF@, while it should take way more to warrant a FF2 on Hansbrough because he is a "backup player".
Idiots... |

Anyway, I'm with the majority here: FF1 on the first, FF2 on the second.

The NBA upgraded all three fouls to flagrant fouls penalty two. Udonis Haslem has been suspended for one game while Dexter Pittman has been suspended for 3 games.

Or, Maybe Candyland ???
I'm thinking abut changing my signature to a reference from the Game of Chutes and Ladders.
