It Ain't Bragging If You Can Do It (Dizzy Dean) ...
As an "experienced" journeyman official, I don't get a lot of coach votes for the state high school tournament and I'm alright with that. I know my limitations and the guys that do make it are almost always much better officials than me.
However I got an email this morning. I was selected to work the Catholic middle school state tournament, the second year in a row that I've been selected. And to top it off, my partner is a friend, a top notch official, that I observed working a high school state tournament game last night. Not a big deal for most of you but it's a big deal for me. It's Saturday afternoon. I can't wait. I'm now officially a part of March Madness. Do I get a secret decoder ring? How about a "Fashion Police" badge?
