What really is the point of stopping the clock after the made basket anyway? I think it's so that the team that is ahead can't hold the ball out of bounds while the clock runs out to end the game. If that's the case, why don't we just make the rule to stop the clock on a made basket in the last 5 seconds of the game? What makes those seconds after a made basket so much more precious in the last 60 seconds than in the previous 31 minutes? Dumb rule, IMHO, at all levels. |
