I'm not going over there. For all anybody knows the L ruled the first action a dribble. How does the T know the L made the call based on the crowd reaction?

Exactly. I've gone fishing to make a travel call, and the primary official just looked at me as we went the other way. I knew almost immediately that I'd screwed up, so before he could say a word to me at half time, I apologized. Inexplicably, I did it again a week later to another veteran official. That was several seasons ago.

Its a 3 whistle game, so its just 5-7 steps down.

If A5 passed the ball from the low post, how could the L possibly rule on what A1 did in the Ts PCA?

Snaqs, couldn't you have called your own IW to make it right?


I understand that we cant make a habit of this during one contest, but I think we should "get it right" depending on the game situation.

5 point game in the 1st Q... maybe not as the team can recover from this IC.
2 point game with :52 left in th 4th Q... most definitely, huh?

I think good partnering & good GM skills include the "get it right" mentality vs. "boy did he get that one wrong" mindset. JMO

Sure, but the time it took me to process my mistake lasted past the throw-in. His look made me question it, but it took me a second. Even then, I wasn't "sure" I had blown it. More of a gut instinct. But that was the problem; I didn't know for sure either way so I should have let it go.

Yep, and both cases I wouldn't have minded a bit of correction on the court. Players rising from what I thought was their knee; told later they didn't control the ball until they'd already risen off the knee.
Weird that I had two nearly identical plays like that so close together.
Weird that both were out of my primary but I was watching anyway; one was through a group of players in the lane in a 2-whistle game where I was T.
Weird that both vets (30 plus years each) waited til an intermission to correct me. Maybe not so weird, I guess, on this one.
