I had a similar thing happen Friday night, end of Q1 2.2 seconds on the clock, home team with the ball for inbound. Clock doesn't start on time ( ball in, A2 dribbles 2 steps and shoots, then clock started )
End of Q2 3.5 seconds Home team with the ball for inbound, A2 gets the ball in BC, dribbles, passes to A3 I look at the clock and it hasn't started, A3 passes to A4 and A4 shoots and misses, I waved the Q to an end. I have no doubt 3.5 seconds have expired. More likely 5 seconds. I talked to the clock operator and we didn't have any more problems the rest of the game. I expect you will ask if the basket had gone what would I have done. I have to count it, unless my partner had a count. BTW, home won by about 20 anyway. In a close game, what choice do I have? |

I ended a game with a whistle that way recently. 1.2 on the clock for an inbound. It did not start. As I counted 2 after it was legally touched inbounds, I blew the whistle.
