Backcourt Violation or not?
Girls gradeschool situation: A1 steals ball heads towards basket, B1 chasing from behind catches up to A1 around free throw line and back tips ball causing ball to go off A1's knee and then line drive off the back board, ball bounces all the way over center line, and A2 finally coming back up the court picks up ball and starts dribbling? Violation?????
Last to touch front court(A1 Knee) , first to touch in backcourt A2. Violation right? Crazy girls basketball!!!

I would be inclined to say so. But I would I hope that I never got something like that either.
I don't remember the girls team when I was younger having those crazy situations. Of course, it was a small town and the only public court was the cement slab on the school playground and we all played together. Guys got to learn girl ball and the younger girls got to play playground guy ball. |

The play would be a backcourt violation. All four criteria were met. Last edited by APG; Mon Oct 18, 2010 at 07:31pm. Reason: spelling |

I don't know whether you're being serious or not about it being a try. In case you are not, I would have a hard time ever seeing this type of play being considered a try.

Last time I checked, the typical JH girl's layup motion starts several steps closer to the basket than the FT line. It's obvious from the OP description that the B player tipped a DRIBBLE into A's knee.

Grade School
He did say grade school. So I would think this is an elementary game. At least when I was in grade school it was elementary. If that is the case anythings possible. It could have been a shot attempt.
See the smiley face?!?!?!?!?!
