Watch Your Step
I have another rules question for anyone who can help. During the game, a player continually uses a spin move to blow by opponents. The spin move in and of itself is legal, but many times when he makes this move, he accidentally (at least I think it's accidentally) steps on the defender's foot, causing the defender to stumble for just a moment. Is this a foul?
Thanks for all advice..you folks have been a lot of help. |

Play on
If it is as you say (accidentally), then I would have nothing. If you deem it purposefully, go ahead and call the player control foul. I will comment though, that I have a hard time seeing a player purposefully stepping on a player's foot while doing a spin move. Last edited by APG; Thu Apr 15, 2010 at 07:03pm. |

I'll bite. How?
Do you allow the defender to step on the ball handler's foot preventing him from jumping or driving? Do you allow a post player to step on the defender's foot, preventing him from jumping to defend a shot?

This is what I was thinking
Quote:
If it's repetitive, eventually he's going to blow out his ankle. But, like others have said, as fast as the game is/a spin move can occur, it's hard for me to envision a player purposely stepping on another player's foot over and over again......
