looking for feedback
I have had multiple issues this season with muscle problems in my calf muscles all the way down to the achillies. Mostly strains that go away in a day or two.
Here is my question, is it possible these are being caused by shoes. I switched this year from mid to low top but the basic shoe is about the same. Could it be a dehydration issue. I have maintained the same stretching prior to games that I have always done. In fact, maybe more this year. When it happens it feels like my calf explodes or a knife has been inserted. They always seem to be deep muscle, never on the surface where you can put your hand on it and try to rub it out. Anyone else ever deal with this type stuff. Thanks for any feedback.

Don't be cheap when you purchase shoes. Be sure the ones that you purchase have really good arch supports. Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate. Take two aspirin (or another antiinflammatory medication if you can't take aspirin for some reason) before every game. Buy a Step Stretcher, put in in your equipment bag, and use it before every game.

If you have a running specialty store near you, or if not, go online, and get yourself a pair of support/running compression socks. I use them for distance runs (half marathon, etc) and have used them during the season when my lower legs have felt tight. Well worth the investment.

Getting advice for a medical problem from any unlicensed source is patently ridiculous. They're guessing and they don't have the medical knowledge to even give you an informed guess. How can you treat an arch problem if you don't know that it IS an arch problem? How do you know that it's a dehydration problem without doing the proper tests? How do you know that aspirin won't either mask or exacerbate the problem? How do you know that a step stretcher won't exacerbate the problem? Silly monkey advice...... See someone who can identify the problem and then properly treat it. |

Ot
Just did some 3 way trades involving non-validated deferred earnings from my IRA to my offshore Keough plan. Can you give me an idea if the deferred earnings can be offset by my unearned income that I take in my wife's name?
All comments appreciated as I am too cheap to pay for qualified help. BTW, what is the best way to treat shin splints I got from my Wal-Mart cross training shoes?

The Herbal Supplement Horsetail helps prevent/heal shin splints. MY eldesst Daughter's AAU coach swore by it and seemed to work.

You Get What You Pay For ...
I'm sure that my $29.00 Wal-Mart work shoes (I spend most of my workday on my feet) contributed to my Plantar fasciitis. Bought better shoes, problem is almost gone.

How About Alphabetcial Order ???
Didn't realize that I was offering advice in chronological order. I will fix it. And in case you haven't figured it out yet, I was agreeing with you, about seeing a doctor, by using your quote in my first post. My goodness, what would you do to me if I had disagreed with you? Ask me to turn in my license to not practice medicine?
