Inbouding Rule/Trouble?

I was refereeing a high school recreation game under high school rules. On the last play of the game, the Team A was had in inbound pass along the sideline with 2 seconds left in the Game. During the inbound the pass traveled along the sideline where it hit a curtain which was out of bounds. Upon hitting the curtain it ricochet in bounds where it was caught. I thought the result should be a loss of possession since the ball hit the curtain. Whereas the other referee ruled game over. What's the actual ruling?
