If they're on the bench in uniform, they're eligible to play from my perspective. And if a player comes off with a cast to join fight, I have no problem doubling up that T. If they weren't going to play, they shouldn't have been on the bench in uniform. And if they keep their heads and stay out of the fight, I won't ever care.

More than likely in both of these situations neither will be in uniform.

Obviously, the cast we know he can't play. However, how are we to know a player is ineligible due to team policies?

Like I said, around my area, certainly if you have grades/other team violations you aren't dressing. The same can be said about if you are wearing a cast too.

I don't get to determine eligibility, and eligibility issues are never brought to my attention. Even the guy with the cast is not ineligible to play afaik, he just cannot play with the cast on. Same reasoning as jewelry, etc.

Is it against the rules to be in uniform and not be in the book if the kid was not supposed to play? This kid may have been sick or injured or academically ineligible. You can call a T on bench personnel without adding a number to the book.

You're right, but by participating in the fight, I'm going to make an assumption that he's a team member. Now that he's participated, I'm adding him to the book. You don't have to, but I will.
