Two Q about Travelling, Double Dribble:

1) dribble end. you got pivot foot.
you raise the pivot foot. now you stand on the other foot.
(as i understand the rules. that ok to raise the pivot foot)
Now you must shot or pass, and its forbidden to bring down the pivot foot.
my questions are:
1.a) is there a time limit to stay standing on the other foot?
1.b) is there any travelling rule that say that its forbidden to jump on the second foot? (for exmple if you lose stability)

2) dribble end.
2.a)is it ok to throw the ball (gently and purposly) on the oponent body and recover it back after you did walk (ofcourse i mean that the oponent didnt touch the ball with his hands)?
2.b) is it ok to dirbble after you throw the ball on oponent body and recoverd it back?

The way I understand the case book, (4.43.3 C) this situation isn't a travel. However, is the player not essentially switching his pivot foot here?

1a. For NFHS, no, but you could have a closely guarded count. NCAA will have a shot clock.
1b. Yes, if he returns to the floor (4-44-3b).

2a. Yes, provided it's not a foul.
2b. Yes (9-5-2).

No such thing as switching the pivot foot. Perhaps you're defining the pivot foot incorrectly as the one on the floor?

I’m really liking the use of the word “forbidden” here.

Me: Signaling a travel
Coach: How is that a travel?!
Me: Your players are forbidden from taking two steps.
Coach: Well, if you put it that way.

How can you foul someone by throwing the ball off them?

1a. The only time limit is either the 5 second closely gaurded on the shot clock expiring. (24 seconds in FIBA)

1b. This would be a violation.

2a. In order to commit a travelling violation you must be in control of the ball (i.e. holding the ball) and move you pivot foot illegally. In your example you cannot call a travelling violation because the player is not in control of the ball.

Seeing as the OP is not from the USA I suspect he would be speaking of FIBA rules. FIBA rules do not allow a player to request a timeout. Only the H/C or A/C can request a timeout through the score table and this request should be granted during the next dead ball.

BTW... Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the U.S.A from your northern neighbours!!!

I'm aware but that's not fouling someone with the ball.
