NCAA-W Mechanic Question
I have my first game coming up and I think I understand most of the mechanics except this one. The Mechanic book says when administering a throw-in chop in the clock with your counting hand. Can some one explain if I am reading this correct, and also is it a chop like High School or is it a pull the chain type motion.
Thanks |

Example: If you're counting with your right hand, when the thrower releases the ball you stop your count and raise your right hand. When the ball is touched, you chop with your right hand. Reverse if counting with your left hand.
As for the proper chop motion, I'm not sure what the NCAA wants (I cannot find my mechanics manual at the moment). Ask your partners.

Chop, not "pull the chain" (but I don't think it matters much) |

Our clock chop is the same as the NBA's, please don't pull the chain or as I refer to it, blowing the train horn...lol
When I'm counting, as the ball is thrown in, I'll finish with whatever number I'm on, keep my hand held out and close my fist when it's legally touched in bounds (notice I used the correct rulebook vernacular for when to chop the clock)...lol |
