Injured player

The gym we played in last night as a two panels of doors separated by a way on one end of the court. The doors lead outside. Last night, a player of mine went up to block a lay up in transition, when he came down, he lost his footing, fell to the floor slid in to the door head first. The bang was loud enough you could hear his head hit the door. Now I see this happen in front of our bench. so my first thought is to run out and check on him, but i am patient waiting to be beckoned...it never happened so i just walked over to my player. In this type of situation, is it obvious that the coach needs to respond, or should I have continued to wait or...not sure what else.
