Violation

Ball in backcourt with much pressure. A1 picks up dribble and passes to A2 who jumps from frontcourt, while in the air A2 catches ball and lands in backcourt ... violation?

Yes.

When A2 was airborne, s/he retains the status of where they last were: that was the frontcourt. By landing in the backcourt, they have commited a violation.

"You are where you were until you get where you're going" I think is a phrase that applies here.

If A2 had jumped from OOB, instead of the frontcourt, and landed inbounds, instead of in the backcourt, would you call a violation?

Does it depend on how you got OOB in the first place?

Could you rephrase this using proper English grammar, please? Thanks.

We go through stages of being snotty and nit-picky about grammar, vocab, etc and then we try to back off for a while, and then we get nit-picky again for a while.

However, I think Mark's question was because he really didn't understand what you were trying to say. It looks to me like your clarification was a necessary one.

No, it doesn't. And, the question was impossible to understand the way it was originally phrased.
