Just think, if the Cubs could actually make some noise this season and make it to the World Series, that would certainly take away some of the attention from Bonds setting the record.

I have to disagree, even from a casual fan. With all of the milestones this year (even without Bonds), it's a banner year.

FWIW, the Phillies already held the record for most losses by a professional team in any sport. In July, however, they hit the milestone of 10,000 losses.
