Smile

From detnews.com

"Many of the current Red Sox players went to the World Series in 2004, with the team that brought a title home for the first time since 1918.
The Rockies never have been this far -- not even close.
Will the difference in experience matter?
'I don't think there's any advantage at all," said Josh Beckett , tonight's Red Sox starter. "Everybody has experience at playing baseball, and that's what we're going to do.'"

Geeze, I don't know if I agree with that, Mick. I just checked. From the 25-man roster in 2004 to this year's 25-man roster, the BoSox only have 7 players the same. They are Doug Mirabelli, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Curt Shilling, Mike Timlin, Jason Varitek and Kevin Youkillis. Of course, Tim Wakefield would have been #8 except for his balky back. Eighteen players is a pretty hefty turnover, especially in the pitching staff.

I guess you have to give the BoSox props for churning their roster and staying in contention. Of course, being able to spend around $135,000 for salaries helps a little bit too.

Does the smile indicate that you left out a comma (and 3 zeros, plus 8 mil)?

First team in MLB history to score 10 or more runs in 3 straight postseason games. I don't think the 8 day layoff was good for the Rockies.

Time and time again I see that long layovers are bad for the first team to declare themselves participants in a sports' final series.

Note to the culturally deprived: it's soup, not taco.

They should have started that game 2 hours ago.

I think the crowd in Boston will forgive him.

What did he miss? I was in the kitchen finishing up dinner and didn't catch it.
