That’s very surprising to me. It seems as though all of the officials in my area wear flat front pants.

I would think that the pleated versions would tend to bulge up.

Pretty much the opposite in my area, pleated is the correct way to go. I never figured out why heavy guys with guts always buy pants two sizes too small. It just emphasizes their gut.

It may emphasize their gut, but at least they stay up! (the pants, I mean) ...and our association voted (yes, voted) to go with pleated fronts as our standard uni.

AS I stated, Smitty, has a brand which cliff keen makes and Smiity brand names it. It cost $39 and with hemming $8. It's a bargain and they make the athletic cut which fits well.
