I've been away from the board for a while, and so I'm just reading this thread tonight. I too have a 12 year old daughter, named Kassandra. I can only imagine what you must be going through right now. You, your daughter, and the rest of your family will be in my prayers as well.

Our family has had its share of illness and hospitalizations. No cancer, fortunately, but some just as life-threatening. Prayer and a little faith can work miracles, not just for the one who is ill, but for the others who are trying to cope.

Let us know when you know more, please.

May God bless you, your daughter, and all your family. May he grant you the strength to pass through this ordeal.

Let us know how it goes.

Oh, and make sure you do something in the restaurant to embarrass her.

My son is 11 and we will both send as much positive energy as we can muster your way. I hope with all my heart that you receive some good news. When you can, let us know how it goes in Richmond.

Keep the faith....

As someone who lost a nephew recently to end stage Hodgkins Lymphoma I know how scary things like this can be.

I have also been active on the fund raising front for the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis for 20+ years and have seen first hand how the advances that are made everyday are allowing more and more positive outcomes....

results

Well guys my familys life changed forever when the doctor came in after Kassidys surgery and told us in 7 words." Kassidy has cancer on her right knee". The tumor came back possitive and we face 3 months of chemo. As of right now the chemo will start next week, go on for 3 months, then they will do another test to see if the treatments are working. You guys know things change in this situation instantly. Kass told me today she is more worried about losing her hair than having cancer.I know we have a long road to travel, I want to thank you for prayers and letting me come on this board and express this to you guys. Talk to you soon

I forgot to add, if she's concerned about her hair, there are some good wigs out there.
