Travel or not?
Try this one please: Happened last night in varsity boys game. A1 passes the ball ahead to A2 who is down court and has no one in front of him. He hasn't established control of the ball, he hasn't dribbled. In receiving the pass, he essentially tries to control the ball as it bounces (or juggles) from one hand to another while moving three or four steps, then dribbles and then went up for a layup and this was all in one motion, no stopping or restarting, etc., and the crowd wanted a travel. I let it go believing he didn't have control and the 2005 case book 4.44 references a similar play but probably not exact, where it refers to muffing and running and moving several steps before dribbling. In that case, it's not considered traveling. I know it was one of those 'better to have seen it plays...' Did I make the right call?
