Ncaa-w
I left my books at work tonight as I rushed off early to get to my game.
Huddles before free throws and out of bounds.... legal or not?? We talked about this in pregame and we were split between the 3 of us. Help me out with the answer. NCAA-W rule only please |

playing court. 1. One warning shall be given to a team that fails to comply; an indirect technical foul shall be assessed thereafter.

If the huddle takes no longer than the amount of time it would take a player at half court to move to the first lane position, then there really has been no delay.
IOW, let the high fives exchanges go, and clamp down on the strategy sessions.

Ultimately there is nothing wrong with the players huddling...the issue becomes whether or not that huddle is delaying the game. While I or my partner am reporting a foul, they can huddle all they want...as soon as we are ready for the free throw/throw-in, they have to be ready to play...and yes, that first warning is one that needs to be recorded somewhere - otherwise I'm gonna forget all about it 20 min. later.
