BOBBYMO I left my books at work tonight as I rushed off early to get to my game. Huddles before free throws and out of bounds.... legal or not?? We talked about this in pregame and we were split between the 3 of us. Help me out with the answer. NCAA-W rule only please

Scrapper1 There is no official warning for this in NCAA, however, like there is in NFHS. So if it bugs you enough to do something about it, you have to call the T. Correct?

In NCAA, we just blow the whistle and tell them to leave the ball alone after the basket, right? And that's the warning?
Jimgolf If the huddle takes no longer than the amount of time it would take a player at half court to move to the first lane position, then there really has been no delay. IOW, let the high fives exchanges go, and clamp down on the strategy sessions.
rockyroad Ultimately there is nothing wrong with the players huddling...the issue becomes whether or not that huddle is delaying the game. While I or my partner am reporting a foul, they can huddle all they want...as soon as we are ready for the free throw/throw-in, they have to be ready to play...and yes, that first warning is one that needs to be recorded somewhere - otherwise I'm gonna forget all about it 20 min. later.
