Well, it's now official.

The Rev. Johnny B. is now history with the Cubbies. Gee, what a surprise. He shouldn't be out of work long though. He's a pretty good manager when he's got a team.

And now comes the guessing....
- Joe Girardi?
- Lou Piniella?
- Dilbert?
- Billy Martin(I know, I know..but he's still livelier than some of the guys the Cubs have had lately)
- ex-Cubbie Orval Overall(look it up)

Hmm...pitched in 4 World Series with the Cubs, and had 3-1 record with 1.58 ERA...not bad. Geesh, he was 6'-2" and 214, and that was back in 1905. Imagine his size if he knew Barry Bonds!

I'll pass along his info to the Cubs president, Andy McPhail.

Whoops, never mind. He's in the unemployment line with Dusty.

Hey, tjones1, have those beloved Cardinals won any World Championships in your lifetime?

Just wonderin'.

This actually might've happened before Tanner was born as well.

But, it still feels good to post it. And I won't even mention that it was only game 6, and the Cardinals also lost game 7, 11-0.

Naw, wouldn't want to rub it in.

Ummm, let me think. I think the answer is the same number the Cubs have won. But, they've been three times in my lifetime.

You mean the Cubs have not been in the World Series in any of our lifetimes? (Maybe JR's lifetime) That could not be true.

Peace

Projections are made to be re-projected.
You still like the Cardinals?
Are you that kind of Illinois fan?

Here's a funny thing about JR's favorite coach - last night Tim McCarver said right before Carpenter got lifted, "If Tony takes off his glasses, he's going to make the change." Sure enough, he takes off his glasses right before leaving the dugout. I had noticed he wears his glasses all the time in the dugout otherwise. I wonder if he takes them off before running out to argue a call? Maybe he worries what the fans think about his eyesight?

Mets vs. Cardinals. Hmm, I can't root for either St. Louis or a New York team. Maybe it's time to root for the Tiggers...

Yes I am. In fact, I root for the Cardinals, St. Louis Blues (yes, I know, who cares about hockey! ), Indiana Hoosiers, and (I got one right) Chicago Bears. How about that as an Illinois fan...
