At game speed, I'm not sure how you can be watching the defender as he steps in late AND possibly see whether the ball handler's foot is planted or airborne as he gathers the ball for the lay-up.

Even after several rewinds, I'm having trouble seeing any travel clearly. Travel would be a tough call imo.

I'm not saying that a travel should be called here because like you said I'm probably looking ahead for the defender. But with slow motion replay he gathers the ball with the left foot on the ground, IMO.

This one is close so lets say that he definitely gathered the ball with his foot on the ground. Do you make this call? If you watch a layup line this happens all time.

I'm curious to see why you would say this is a travel. It appears to me that after his dribble ends he lands on his right foot, then jumps to his left foot and shoots. This seems to be allowed by NFHS rules, not sure about NCAA.

Does NCAA not allow a jump stop? Or does the second landing of a jump stop have to be on both feet, not just on one?

The reason this would be a travel is if he ends his dribble with the left foot on the ground. This is a close call and if you are not 100% sure then you should not call a travel. The travel rule is the same for NFHS and NCAA.

I originally brought this up because there are alot of travels that have become accepted basketball moves.

I'm trying to find some more videos of plays.
