I heard on the radio this morning that it came from outside the bus. Quite a few bullets were sprayed..lucky that only one got hit.

I know, I know!!

The shot came from outside the bus, went through the pantleg of one player and hit pitcher- Ryan Denney- in the calf. Here comes the weird part--- Denny was wearing a USC girls cheerleading outfit when he got hit, including high, white boots. The bullet was slowed down by the boots or his injury woulda been much worse. Trainers dug the bullet out before taking him to emergency.

Maybe it's just me, but how hard can it really be to take a pitcher out of a game?

About as hard as it is to field a routine ground ball to 1B in the 6th. game of the World Series?

Maybe it's just me, but how hard can it really be to take a pitcher out of a game? Is there some Jedi mind trick that Yankee fans use on Boston managers that makes them allow Pedro to stay in a game?

We lost a pennant b/c Grady Little couldn't say "Pedro, you're done." Last night, we lost just about any shot at the division b/c Francona couldn't say "Pedro, you're done." Well, I guess he said it, b/c they had the reliever all warmed up. But then Pedro talked him into letting him start the next inning and he gives up another couple runs.

I just don't get it. Everybody in the world outside the Boston dugout knows that Pedro can not go more than 6 innings anymore. He just can't. But they keep leaving him out there to get battered. His September has been horrible. He's not going to snap out of it with 2 more innings against the Devil Rays. AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!
And your little doggy, too...

I think R.I.P. is a little premature. We'll get one more shot at you.

7 in a row!! This is getting almost as good as the Cowboys vs Redskins. Can you say 13 out of 14?

Yeah, you're probably right about the premature part. The Yanks have the best record in the AL, but Boston does own the second best record- even though they are the wild card. You never can tell in these short playoff series either too. If either Minnesota or Oakland/Anaheim gets hot, both of us could disappear in a hurry. Hope not though- Yankees/BoSox is always great theater. And fun.

Exactly. The Marlins have proved that twice now.

Well, Mt. St. Helens seems to have woken up again. Hopefully, for our friends in the Pacific Northwest it will be minor. Best wishes to all of you up that way and we would certainly like to hear your thoughts on today.

Boy, those western divisions sure know how to end a season, don't they?

As promised.....

Gotta hope for Yankees/BoSox in the ALCS. More fun that way. Makes for a shorter and happier(for us) off-season if we can bug the Chuckster every day or so.

Btw, St. Louis reminds me of us when it comes to pitching. If they run into a hot pitching staff, they could go out early- even with the thunder and lightning that they have.

NY/Anaheim, STL/Houston

NY beats STL in 6.

I don't have much faith in Boston's chances being led by Manny "Gawd-we're-just-happy-to-get-in-the-stadium-without-paying-for-a-ticket" Ramirez vs the Angels who were all but given up for dead a few weeks ago.

STL might or might not have a problem with pitching but they do have Tony LaRussa.
