"Here's the perspective on this small but scintillating segment of the pennant race: The last time the Red Sox left New York, they were four and a half games ahead of the Yankees.

In a little more than two months, the archrivals have experienced a 13-game swing in the standing. Does that have a familiar ring to it?"

So, anybody still want to want to argue about who's better: Nomar or Jeter?

Cool Didn't need Pudge or Tramm.

Tiger 2 of 3 series win in NYC.
First in 7 years.

Go Red Sox Tigers!
Pudge and Tramm were ejected, but not dejected.

I'm happy for the Tigers, too, and I knew that Trammell would help that team. But why isn't anybody talking about the hottest team in baseball? How 'bout them D-Rays!!

How about Manny last night? Didya see the play where he tried to pick the ball up on the triple, and he kicked it another 15 feet away? Priceless!

I'll tell you something though, Chuck. I think that you may have changed my mind about Manny. After the way the BoSox tried to unload him, he coulda sulked and pouted like Nomar. Nope! He's been a professional all the way, and he's been playing his butt off too. He's impressed me.

PS-We don't talk about Tampa Bay because our resident Seattle fan- Ol' Rocky- starts to cry every time LouLou gets mentioned.

Visiting with my son in Olympia, WA and it is funny to hear everyone around here talking about how bad the Mariners are. I was wearing my Yankees cap all week and people were telling me the Yankees suck. I asked them what was the Mariners record -- losers of 8 straight! Going to see them play Cleveland on Thursday. Should be an interesting night.

Hey, enjoy it. I'd like to see Safeco myself. My buddy and I are doing Philly's new park and Yankee Stadium this year. Our pilgrimage to Seattle won't be for a few years, I'm sure.

Safeco is a gorgeous park, and a very nice place to watch really lousy baseball!! Although some of these "young" guys they are bringing up have a tleast provided for some excitement every now and then!!
