4-12-6 reads no team control exists when the ball is in flight during a try. Since no team was in control there was no possession to be gained or lost. So the shot clock is reset. Is that correct?

No in a shot clock environment -- cause the loss of TC isn't what's important -- it's whether the ball on a shot hit the rim or not.

TC is lost many times in shot clock games without a reset.

Makes sense. I was so worried about TC, that I forgot about the ball hitting the rim.

So it boils down, like any other held ball, as to whether the team in or last in control has the arrow. For the OP part (c), if A has the arrow, no reset. If B has the arrow, reset.

Since there is no mention of shot clock in NFHS rules, the answer would be strictly a local matter.
