I agree with all of the above. I couldn't believe the umpire could make that call when I viewed it at full speed. Slo-mo replay definitely shows the batter threw his elbow into the pitch. Regardless, I'm still surprised that the umpire ruled the way he did on a high and tight pitch.

I had one last weekend on a slow inside breaking-ball. The batter raised his forearm at the last second and let the ball hit him, then started to go to 1st. "Time. Stay right there. Ball 3."
Not one person said a peep, and there was a good sized crowd. The batter knew it, stepped back in the box, and walked on the next pitch.

I totally disagree. Batter is doing exactly what he should be doing in a close game especially in extra innings. 99% of the time he will get the award.

So he should be trying to cheat instead of trying to get a base hit or legitimate walk? Please tell me you are a coach and not an umpire......
