I am not a lawyer, but:
1) Anyone can be sued 2) the standard is "what would a reasonable umpire have done?" 3) If the league allows it, get something from them in writing. Perhaps just write them an email asking if it's allowed and save the reply. 4) if the league allows it, then that is the rule and you are less likley to be found liable (assuming you continue to only allow them to roam "around the dugout" and not, say, behind the catcher, etc) |
