Wear the appropriate uniform, make sure it fits and is clean.
Anytime you need to run, run to get into position.
Use appropriate mechanics and have great timing with those mechanics. The rest will take care of themselves over time. Until coaches see you can do the job they are not going to give you much respect. They may even try you to see how you will react. But if you do those things you will be ahead of the curve in my opinion. Peace
