1 Ball Bag

Why are the MLB guys for the most part going to 1 ball bag?

There are a very few that use one. "Most" is a very strong and I suspect a rather inaccurate statement.

Of course when all one has to do is hold up three fingers to the home dugout for more baseballs one bag is not all that big a deal. Most

I've only seen one of the MLB guys using 1 ball bag, so far. At least here on the East Coast.

I'm sure its simply up to each umpire to wear what he wants. I have always preferred only to wear one ball bag.

And with ball boys at the game, there is never a need for more than three baseballs in the bag anyway.

Thanks
David

It's simply a matter of personal preference. Me? I wear two. I wore one only when I did lower levels many Moons ago. I wear two because that way I have plenty of space in which to hold my sandwich, my keys, cell phone, makeup, hairbrush, etc. Oh, and somewhere in there I stick my plate brush, but the damn dirt keeps getting in my hairbrush!
