USSSA Shirt

What does USSSA require their umpires to wear? I signed up to call games, but haven't gotten any calls until today, but all I have is the regular navy shirt - is that what they wear? ITs been a few years since I coached at that level, and I can't remember.

Thanks for the help.

Here in NC we wear Black, Creme, Powder Blue and Red shirts with the USSSA Logo.

These can be purchased here from Linedrive -

I have one of the red ones(a freebie), and they run pretty big. Kinda like the Officials Choice shirts.

They also sell umpire shorts, which should be banned from the surface of the Earth. And the clip-on sunglasses should get the same treatment, along with the white socks.

I'm thinking about ordering the umpire whistle though.........

We wear black, creme, navy blue, powder blue, red...just basically whatever we are feeling like wearing that day. The navy and the black shirts are usually worn in the mornings and for night games while the lighter creme and powder blues are reserved for games in the heat of the day.

Black umpire shorts over full leg white McDavid spandex, exposed shin guards and a red umpire shirt is just the look I've been searching for.

I believe that the leather ball bags are required in USSSA.

Red, Cream, Powder Blue, and Black here, in the Triad area...

A coach from Virginia who is the UIC up there said he actually ordered some of his umpires Forest Green shirts for USSSA. Taking "going green" to a whole new level.

I wish we would just wear blue, but hey, I don't call the shots.
