How about "was umpired by"? That would give me Al Foreman (after he left MLB) and Al Clark (before he made the Majors and was eventually booted).
I did umpire (in softball) a former running back for the Detroit Lions and another big monster who had played for the Dallas Cowboys. The former Cowboy had gained a lot of weight since he retired, so they stuck him at F4, who has few balls to field at the super-crusher level. Don't remember their names, though. Add umpired by Jack Madden, later an NBA ref.
