U3 is still running back to 2nd in infield grass when the tag is made. he's in terrible position and on the move, never makes a signal and it looks like he glances toward U2(never had a wide enough angle to see where U2 was) to see if he was going to make a call.
It certainly appeared to be an out but the call was safe.

I don't know 4 man mechanics, but it seems to me that something was blown here.
Once U4 went out did U3 have R1 at 2nd and 3rd? If so he just overcommitted to third. If not, I'm assuming U2 should have rotated to 2nd.
I'm curious to know the rotation in this situation.
Can anyone help?
Under CCA mechanics, if U3 goes out and the ball drops, then it's a standard three-person rotation on this play. UIC rotates to third, U2 has R1 at second, U1 has BR touching third and rotates home when R1 commits to third.

Pro mechanics might be different.

Sorry, I mis labeled the umps.
In this situation, U2 moved to third when U3 went out, you could see it in the replay. He then was running back to 2nd when the throw came in behind the runner. Something seemed out of whack. If UIC went to third, U2 clearly forgot his mechanics.
