Delmon Young is a grown man who makes his own decisions. Those have included throwing a bat at a pitcher in 2005, bumping an umpire in 2005 and throwing a bat at an umpire in 2006.

High school team mates referred to him as arrogant. When he was signed out of high school he was asked what kind of player he would be. He answered, "A superstar."

Sounds like an over indulged brat used to getting his way and who has had adults in different roles in his life: coaches, counselors, agents and perhaps parents that indeed allowed him to do so.

Unfortunately he's not unique.
