How does this work?
Under NCAA rules, when the R2 initiates a net fault, he/she signals net, then signals the number to the R1. The R1 then signals the number to the coach of the offending team, then initiates the loss of rally signal, which the R2 then repeats. The number eight would be shown using both hands (five fingers on the right hand, three (thumb, index, and middle) on the left hand) simultaneously. If #53 committed the fault, the sequence would be the same, except the right hand first (to indicate a 5 as the "tens" digit) followed by the left hand.

I don't believe NFHS standardized how they want the sequence or identification to be done.
