DP ball. F6 flips to F4 but F4's foot comes off the bag too soon and I call runner safe. F4 not happy with call. Next play ground ball to F4 who deliberately stomps on 2B for the 3rd out. I decide to wait and speak to the F4 when he comes up to the plate that same inning.
My question is, would any of you tossed F4 on the spot for stomping on the bag? The more I thought about it this situation is just like a batter drawing a line in the dirt on a called strike he doesn't like. BTW, this was high school varsity summer ball.

I doubt that I would have dumped him, but I certainly would have discussed the situation with his coach. You said this was summer league high school stuff so there is a level of respect that needs to be maintained. It also depends somewhat on how much cooperation you get from the coach. Most guys at that level will be your allie as opposed to your enemy.

Since you can talk to F4 when he comes up to bat AND you're making calls at second, I guess you're woking one man. Although one would have to have seen the play to be absolutely sure, my gut feeling is that I would have probably called the runner out. No foot stomping to deal with. Is this what you're thinking, Tee?
