Talking Heads At It Again

Morons doing PR v USA game noted the differences in international play by stating the batter must keep a foot in the batter's box.

Yeah, okay.

It's always nice when clones support each one another.

ISF doesn't have that requirement, right?

Wasn't sure if you were ragging on the TH's because they said this rule is different, when it's not, or because ISF doesn't have this rule.

Anyone following the games online at all? Sportzcast Player TH is an amateur, ok he's actually the Mass ASA Commissioner and good friend of mine. Still fun to follow along.

No, ISF does not have that requirement, but MLB rules do for NA leagues.

He is doing a fine job.

(But I saw the plate blue clear a bat on a potential play at the plate. KR isn't going to like that )

So get it changed. Until then, you & Esq & others are just people to ignore. Nobody cares to listen to whining.

And they just repeated it twice in the Aus/USA game stating that it is a new ISF rule that came in the past 2-3 years.

Yet, nothing in the 2010-2013 book

Upon further review.

Even though it is not listed in the latest rule changes or included on the rules provided on line, the printed version of the ISF Rules does indicate that the batter must keep a foot in the batter's box between pitches (with the normal exceptions included in ASA), but there is no warning. The effect is an immediate strike on the batter, no pitch needs to be thrown.

However, even in the printed version, it is not included in the rules, but in what seems to be a Rules Supplement section and is highlighted as "Key Notes".

And here I thought NFHS & NCAA could be coy about where the insert rules/interpretations!!!

As far as I learned, ISF requires both feet to be completely inside the box prior to the start of the pitch (on the line is allowed) (4.3.c).

The batter is out "when his foot is completely outside the lines of the batter's box when he makes contact with the ball" - 4.6.d

The discussion concerns the batter's position between pitches. The rules that are on-line at ISF's web site does not provide any direction in this area, but in the book it is noted at the beginning of the rules, but not within the rules.

So they're not morons? At least as it applies to where a particular foot must be kept?
