But, to the point. If I was umpiring a high school game, played under standard NFHS rules, I would have no problem with this glove. I suppose that some umpire somewhere might judge that the white areas in some way "give the appearance of the ball" or that the unusual design is "distracting". Most probably would not. Calling the glove illegal on either of those two points, to me, would be a real stretch. But it is within an umpire's right to make such a determination.

Thanks to those that have given me input. It has helped (and further confused) the situation. To summarize it seems the glove would be legal for pitching in most situations except possibly NSA (not uniform in color) or if an umpire considers it distracting.
Have had a friend suggest coloring in the white part with a Sharpie but the main reason my daughter wanted the glove is how it looks. And unless we color it brown it still wouldn't comply with NSA rules.
Still haven't decided what to do but thanks again.

If your kid wants it, buy it and use it. 99% of the time nothing's ever going to be said about it and, if it is, then all she'll be asked to do is remove it. But make sure you have a back-up in your bag "just in case".

why?

Would an equipment manufacturer make such a glove knowing that it could cause a problem? Bad move, I say.

1) Because the pitcher only accounts for 1/9th of the defensive players on the field.

2) Because the manufacturer probably makes at least a dozen other models that there wouldn't be an issue with.
