Is there a penalty for wearing a 1B's glove in the outfield apart from having the player remove it. We had a sitch where the LF caught a fly ball, then it was noticed that he was wearing a trapper. Article 1.14 (OBR) seems to indicate
that the player must replace the illegal equipment but that the out would still stand. I was PU and this is what I did. Did I srew up??

Depends upon the rules you are playing by........

OBR is simply removal of the mitt when discovered.

In Fed, the mitt can legally be used anywhere provided it meets the specifications of a legal glove/mitt. If it does not, it is an illegal mitt and penalty applies only if it was involved in a play and only if discovered before the next pitch, play, or attempted play. In any event, the illegal mitt will be removed from the game.

Just my opinion,
