Had Four Outs last night
Co-ed, slow pitch. It's important to note that, due to a time limit, this league has a "last batter" rule, where you cannot bat more than once in an inning. (We forego this rule in the tournament.)
One out, R2 on second, R1 on first. B1 hits a fly ball to the outfield, which was caught easily for the second out. R1 and R2 were off with the hit (bad advice to "just go" on "last batter"). R2 scored, and R1 was gunned down near the plate for the third out. I waited (I'm the BU), and one outfielder was smart enough to ask his catcher for the ball and step on second for the fourth out. It took me ten years (about 50-60 games per year) to see four outs. Let's see if it takes another ten.

Still on the field. That outfielder yelled, "wait! WAIT!"
So, they did.

But, apparently not smart enough to have an infielder execute a dead ball appeal!

Being a live ball appeal, the one person paying attention and knowing what to do made the appeal; any fielder with the ball, touching the base. If asked as a dead ball appeal, it would have to be someone else, since an outfielder cannot do it. Why add the extra level here?
