Look-Back Rule
Situation:
R1 on first. Pitcher throws a pitch, R1 takes no lead off, catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher and the pitcher is standing in the circle but not on the mound. The runner from first takes off about 10 feet and comes right back. What is the ruling? Can a base-runner be on a base when the pitcher has the ball in the circle and take off at that time? I know if you stop you have to immediately decide which way your going but what about a girl who stays on the base and then takes off when the pitcher has the ball in the circle? Thanks
