Fielder Positions - The Official Forum

The only rule about placement that I know of is every fielder must be in fair territory at the time of pitch. Obviously the catcher is exempted from this rule, but he/she must be in the catcher's box. As far as other placement goes, I have seen MLB teams bring an outfielder in for the shift.
