Adjacent Positions
NFHS Rule 7.6 Art 4 states that on a throw-in teammates shall not occupy adjacent postions which are parallel to and within 3 feet of the boundry line if an opponent desire one of the positions. It does not say anything about a team stacking perpendicular to the boundry line thereby preventing opponents from getting between them. Are you aware of any such rule. We had this situation the other night in a high school boys varsity contest. Coach called time out because he wanted his players in between the stacked players on the team inbounding the ball underneath their own basket. While I think it does provide a definite advantage to the inbounding team I have not yet found a prohibition against it.

There are no other prohibitions except the one that you already cited. For anywhere else on the floor, whoever gets to the spot first is entitled to that spot. Opponents can't force themselves in between if there's no room.
