And yet another illegal pitch thread
Sorry that the 'event' in question is a few days in the past, but I've been off line.
In the college softball world series, did anyone judge the MI pitcher as illegal? I'm specifically referencing her wrist being farther from the waist than the elbow? I was flipping channels, saw it immediately and took the opportunity to show my wife what I have to do on the field. (I froze the DVR: just before the point of release, the elbow was crooked outwards close to 45º, then at the point of release her arm seemed to be crooked outwards about 25º-30º at the elbow and after the pitch her follow through carried her arm in front of her body.) I watched for about 2 innings and she seemed to do it on every pitch. I didn't see it called and I can only assume it was allowed all year by the NCAA officials.

My DVR has freeze frame and can move forward one frame at a time. While my wife did indulge my lecture on these intricacies, I'm sure she would have 'balked' if I had gotten out my protractor. The angles are only estimates that could also be skewed by the placement of the centerfield camera, which is usually not dead center.

I hope so, 'cause if it isn't, it must be T.G.E.S.L.

Unfortunately I don't see a "fanboy" or "coach" setting.

TN had runners on 2nd&3rd when the IP was called. Box score indicates that she was only called for one IP in that game, and none in the second game. As has been stated in a previous NCAA IP thread; the only IP's that make the box score are IP's where a runner(s) advanced. So, there could have been some other IP's called with no runners on base, but those would not have appeared in the box score. FWIW....Taylor lead the Big 10 in IP's this season with 18. When watching Jordan pitch, that was the first thing I noticed with her pitches. Her had was WAY beyond the wrist on every pitch. This kid has many mechanical problems and I'm surprised nobody corrected them along the way. Now she's hurling at the DI level and getting dinged. It's a shame.
