Oddly, the missing mechanics diagrams are refered to by the accompanying text in several places, which makes me think that the diagrams were omitted by mistake.

Why else would there be a "key" explaining that "in the following diagrams", "P" equals Plate Umpire, "B" equals Base Umpire, etc.?

Anyhow, if you didn't get the Umpire Edition, it does exist and you might want to find one. The missing diagrams aside, the entire "Umpire Manual" section was reorganized and rewritten for 2009, with all new illustrations added.
