Best book (besides rule book) for learning rules?
I can't imagine why I didn't think of attempting to become an official before now. I know it will be tough but I think it will be fun and rewarding.
I have signed up with my local officiating sanctioning body and their classes for new refs will begin next year. I'm really looking forward to that. Besides reading the official rulebook, are there any texts, videos, or other reference materials which would be helpful? Of course, reading this forum has been an education in and of itself! Thanks! |

For an in-depth look at the NFHS rules buy the Redding Guide:
Home Page The NFHS usually has their football rules meeting in Jan/Feb so the 2009 Redding Guide should come out in May/June, somewhere in there. You can also read through these: Football Files The link to Penalty Enforcement (not All But One Penalty Enforcement) is a great framework for applying most any penalty to any situation. |
