I'm only 30, and halfway to Patrick Stewart!

You know it's bad when you're 18, and your mother asks you if you've ever considered Rogaine.

When I lived in Michigan, I remember the State ASA guys being very insistent on the hat with helmet issue. Then, we had the National School and some enormous guy from Maine was asked to blather about uniforms...someone asked about this issue and he said: PUT THE HAT IN YOUR BACK POCKET AND TAKE IT OUT AND WEAR IT BETWEEN INNINGS....

A very embarrassed state guy had to correct this a little later.

That was Norm Davis and he gave you the solution ASA issued when the helmet for umpires first surfaced. Then again, an umpire calling a game with a hat hanging out of his/her back pocket wouldn't give me the impression of a professional umpire.
