Scenario

This didn't happen, but a neat scenario anyway.

Bases loaded, one out. Batter pops high fly between pitcher and catcher in fair territory. Pitcher comes toward plate and catcher goes out towards pitcher. Pitcher tries to catch the ball and the ball comes off the heel of her glove in fair territory. Catcher dives forward and cleanly catches the ball in her mask while laying on the ground (ball never contacts ground).

What do you rule?

Catching the ball with detached player equipment. Dead ball. Award bases. 3 from TOP.

Most likely an infield fly rule, BR is out. Catching a batted ball with detached equipment is a 3-base award from the TOP.

You now have two outs and no one on base.

Ummm...how about, "Please"?

Maybe..."One more word outta you coach..."!

Or, hows about...It is a delayed dead ball!

I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views!

Screw green, it ain't easy being blue!

I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.

And BretMan brings it home (pun intended). It is a delayed dead ball! IFR batter out, delayed dead ball, score all 3 runs that were on the base.

And BretMan even got bonus points for the realization that after you make the award a coach is going
