Tick off a couple of the wrong coaches and an umpire can disappear from a schedule quick enough or they can end up with a schedule that isn't exactly friendly. Some young umpires don't understand the "game" that is expected of them and dig a hole. I don't care for it, but the only organization which can stop it is the NCAA. It's not much different in some areas that still permit HS coaches to "red line" an umpire. BTW, I didn't think my post showed a sign of being defensive. I'm having fun! |
